SPATIAL ORGANIZATION

Constructed primarily of Pumu wood (Fokienia hodginsii), Dao houses are elevated to protect from moisture and wildlife. The central room serves as the altar room—the spiritual heart of the home where ancestors are honored.

Structural Resin

Natural resins are used to seal joints against the relentless humidity of the monsoon season.

Homes are always built facing down- slope to ensure "life energy" flows freely through the hearth.
